In 2012, the Legislature instituted an income tax system that places the burden of revenue on everyone who receives a W-2. If you are a wage-earner, you are getting more of the tax burden than a business owner. Business owners do not pay Kansas income tax. It is not fair for a boss’ assistant to pay income taxes while the boss doesn’t. This must be addressed, not only for fairness, but to help repair what the Legislature and Governor have done to Kansas. After repeated chances to repair this unfairness, the Republican Legislators and Governor have voted to keep it. It is time to get rid of them.
